Device to Root Out Evil - Dennis OppenheimDevice to Root Out Evil is  a somewhat controversial piece of art on loan to the Glenbow & Torode Group of Companies by Benefic (Vancouver organization). First commissioned in 1997 this interesting piece of work has been moved several times. Originally  unveiled at the Venice Biennale in 1997, it was later rejected by the New York City Public Art Fund, then also rejected by Standford University, finally landing at Harbour Green Park in Vancouver prior to its move to Calgary.

Some facts:

Measurement, 20' X 15' X8'
Constructed of galvanized structural steel, anodized perforated aluminum and transparent red venetian glass.
The sculpture sits on a concrete foundation.
Currently it is located in the Ramsay Exchange area of Calgary.
