If you aren't in the web hosting business, it is completely appropriate to skip the content here. I am publishing it more as a central repository to remind myself how to do some things.
NTFS Junction points using linkd command.
If you are running an older ensim control panel, a common problem is the webmaster / developer / designer / client either deleting the wwwroot symbolic link or overwriting it when uploading files. This symbolic link can easily be restored without having to re-create the site. Open a comman prompt navigate to the ftproot folder, make sure there is no wwwroot folder there (if there is and there is content in it, make sure you back it up before you delete it - I have warned you).
From there the command might look similar to this: linkd wwwroot "d:\sitedata\domains\<broken client site>\root\inetpub\wwwroot
If it worked you will see a success message.
Changing Quotas & other information in the Ensim control panel display:
One of the issues we run into when changing quotas on the older Ensim control panels ie version 3.6 & older is that if you use the control panel to change information or disk quotas it will reset the ntfs permissions, so here is the backdoor method:
1. Using the windows file system go to the properties for the drive (probably D:) select quota then select quota entries, then find the username assigned to the site. Quite often it will take a few minutes for the usernames to show up. Adjust the quotas directly there.
2. Run regedit, navigate to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ensim\WEBppliance\domains find the domain name you wish to adjust. Common items included here are:
