Interview with Alderman Ric McIver - June 16, 2007

I had the opportunity to chat with Alderman Ric McIver while he was visiting the McKenzie Lake annual "Mckenzie Frenzie". Alderman McIver spoke to me about the high density Transit Oriented Redevelopment the city is planning for the Anderson LRT station parking lot. He said, " this redevelopment would reduce the parking from 1700 spots down to only 1000 spots." He further went on to speculate that a possible side effect would be increased pressure on the already tight parking situation that exists in downtown Calgary today.

Alderman McIver stressed " It is important that the public express their opinion at the upcoming Information session to be held on June 20, 2007 at the Southwood Community Cente."   The session runs from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

Find out more about the Anderson LRT parking redevelopment from the cities web site.
