Statistics Canada today published the news that our productivity is up 0,7%.  I don't know about you but I can remember the endless comparisons to Americans who almost always seemed to be more productive than Canadians.  Could it be that the artery clogging diets are finally catching up to our cousins south of the border or has the Canadian worker really stepped up to the plate!  Maybe it is the lack of decent programming on TV!

Whatever the reason lets celebrate, I know, National Productivity day (which by the way will lower our productivity). Tis strange I know.

ps. the previous day they mentioned housing prices are up (Edmonton 40.5% , Calgary 27.4 %, Saskatoon 24.9% , Regina 17.3% and last but not least Winnipeg 6.9%), which all goes to prove what W.C. Fields immortalized, " a sucker is ......."
