I might be the only one who feels this way!
Last Sunday I decided to visit the new "Mega Mall" called Cross Iron Mills. Just based on my experience with this mall, it just may be "Folly in Balzac", on the other hand Calgary never seems to get tired of new shopping areas.
Maybe I lack the shopping stamina, maybe I am just getting crotchety but I sure don't plan on a return visit anytime soon.
From where I live it is a LONG drive. Then once you get near it, it is a long wait to get into the parking lot, then a process to find a parking spot. The absolute worst part was trying to return home. It literally took half an hour from the parking lot to get back to the Deerfoot (highway 2). Sidenote, why is it that traffic cops think they do a better job than signals and yet they seem to snarl the traffic even more.
Other than Bass Pro this mall has no special attractions like other malls (ie west edmonton).
Yes, there were many many many stores but any of that merchandise can be found much closer to home. So if I am wrong and Calgary's shopping mob continues to go up there, then it will be all the more reason to not go. The day I went congestion does not begin to describe the hordes of people there. If you have ever "hit the wall" due to a shopping experience you want to be really careful here!
