Calgary Courts Centre opening re-scheduled to September
The planned opening of the new Calgary Courts Centre has been re-scheduled to September 4.
The project was originally scheduled to open to the public on Monday, August 20, as part of a phased-in opening over a period of several weeks.
The Calgary Courts Centre is a state-of-the-art building with 73 high-tech courtrooms and complex security systems. The integrated security system is not yet fully operational. Issues with the system include final installation and testing of electronic card locks and readers. It is expected these issues will be resolved in two weeks.
In the interim, contingency plans are in place immediately for those who were expecting to attend matters in the new Courts Centre over the next two weeks.
